What is BionicGym?

BionicGym is wearable cardio exercise. Use it sitting. Standing. At home. Even at work.

You wear BionicGym on your legs. You control it with your phone. Electrical impulses make your muscles shiver away calories.

How and why it works:

We mimic shivering! A calorie is a unit of heat. When the body wants to warm up / burn calories it shivers. There is this resonant frequency of around 7-8Hz where the muscle fibers contract and relax optimizing energy consumption.

The muscles cry out for oxygen and fuel creating a demand for blood – hence the heart rate increases and the lungs work harder. Special electrodes allow us to target concentrated impulses. Of course there is a little bit of magic in the formula. Even though the electrodes are only on the thigh we manage to bring in the calf muscles and the gluteals (bum) muscles.

How many calories can I burn with BionicGym?

New users typically burn 200-300 calories/hour. With training, this can increase to 500+ calories/hour. That's the number we measured in the lab.

What other major muscles does it target other than the thighs?

The electrodes are positioned on the upper legs but with BionicGym’s sophisticated impulses we bring in all the lower limbs. E.g. The nerve to the calf muscle runs through the thigh so we target it there giving you calf contractions... We even have a program that preferentially targets the glutes (bum). At low levels - for easy calorie burn - the perceived contractions will be primarily in the thighs. Of course, at higher levels, you get a proper cardio workout.

What if I want to return it?

The bad news is that our return policy may seem harsh. If you've used your BionicGym and want to return it within 30 days of delivery, there's a $128 fee for hygiene standards.

The good news is that most everyone who commits to using their BionicGym... increasing intensity and using it at least 1 hour per day... gets noticeable fitness results.

How often should I replace the electrode gel pads?

We say typically every 30 sessions or so. However, this very much depends on your skin type/condition, how you use them, or if you sweat a lot.

How long until I sweat and raise my heart rate?

Some raise their heart rate in their first 2 or 3 sessions. Others take weeks or (in rare cases) a few months to get there.

To get a faster response, it's important to use BionicGym consistently. As you do more sessions... your muscles adapt to this new form of exercise.

1 hour / day, 5 X week is a good starting point. Many in the community use it for several hours / day.

Can BionicGym increase aerobic fitness for athletes?

Anecdotal reports say yes.
